"A man is as old as his arteries, " stated around the year 1680 Dr. Thomas Sydenham, known as 'the English Hippocrates.' (There are 60,000 miles, or over 96,000 km of arteries within the body and they are not just rigid tubes).
The numbers are depressing and frightening at the same time! Atherosclerosis is the leading cause of heart attack, stroke, vascular dementia, and peripheral artery disease, and the No. 1 killer stalking people over 45 - in their most productive period of life.
In the United States alone, it causes more than 870,000 deaths each year, which is about 2,400 people dying every day -- more than all forms of cancer combined; an average of one death every 39 seconds.
Over 80 million - one in three - Americans live with some form of cardiovascular disease or have a serious risk factor that increases the likelihood of developing heart disease. Nearly 1 million American people are disabled each year from strokes.
The list of countries goes on and on. In England and Wales, for example, each year an estimated 124,000 deaths are caused by cardiovascular disease. Around 39,000 of these deaths occur in people under 75 years. For every death, cardiovascular disease causes two non-fatal but serious complications, such as a stroke or heart attack. And a sad prognosis: it is expected that atherosclerosis will continue to be a major health problem...
According to a Canadian study published in a leading medical journal, cardiovascular disease is also one of the leading causes of death in Canada, claiming more than 33,600 lives per year. Over 1.4 million Canadians have heart disease. From 2003 to 2011, fewer than 1 in 10 adults and 1 in 5 youth were in ideal cardiovascular health, which means that over 90% of Canadians are at some risk for heart attack or stroke (CMAJ Feb. 18, 2014).
Another country: Australia. In 2012, 43,946 deaths were attributed to cardiovascular disease killing one Australian every 12 minutes which makes it the leading cause of death in this country and one of Australia's largest health problems.
If you are lucky enough you may come across a study revealing that by age 50 years, atherosclerosis was present in 82% of men and 68% of women. You may also find a study stating that the maximum efficacy of the current medical treatment for atherosclerosis has been measured at only 30 to 40%. This is not something organized modern medicine can be proud of.
Though atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease has become an escalating epidemic, global and real, the general public remains largely unaware of this fact.
And what makes it most terrifying is that atherosclerosis may not be diagnosed serious until "all of a sudden" life-threatening complications occur. That's why this treacherous disease strikes so hard, totally and unexpectedly...
But are we really so helpless when it comes to heart disease and stroke?
Taking prescription drugs or undergoing bypass surgery can be (and often is) a wise and the only possible decision, even life-saving at times - but not if chosen in ignorance of their natural alternatives. Unfortunately, after leaving the doctor's office, the typical treatment for atherosclerosis inevitably means medications for life and/or surgery.
Nary a word on nutritional supplements, although more and more people, some 'white coats' included, admit that there are successful methods to halt the progression of atherosclerosis and reduce the buildup of atheromatous plaque deposits - the primary underlying cause of cardiovascular complications - other than temporary medicinal and surgical interventions.
For this reason, we decided to participate in bringing to public awareness a message that could save lives:
Don't give in, don't give up! Contrary to standard medicine, atherosclerosis sufferers can halt the progression of this serious and life-threatening condition nutritionally and, therefore, reduce the need for surgery and/or widely prescribed medications that only relieve the symptoms and often prompt multiple side effects.
The nutritional arterial cleansing - a perfect example of the orthomolecular approach to atherosclerosisa - is a time-tested concept aimed at helping reduce the effects of the plaque buildup by addressing the cause of the problem, that is by eliminating the factors which created the buildup in the first place. As such, it provides a comprehensive support for the entire, from head to toes, circulatory system.
By following the "do-no-harm" principle and placing the atherosclerosis sufferers' nutritional needs first and foremost, the concept of nutritional arterial cleansing has been found truly effective in and improving and/or restoring impaired blood circulation and - over a period of time - washing out the obstructions from the diseased vessel walls safely and gradually. That is what sets it apart from conventional standard "cut-and-medicate" treatments.
The beauty of this process is its simplicity. Moreover, you can do it on your own and - most importantly - get the results by helping the body to get to the root of the problem, instead of masking it. To put it another way, by just pulling a dandelion out by its leaves, you are not going to get very far...
Since 1983, hundreds of thousands of people who have done it achieved immense improvement in their arterial health. For over twenty years, almost every month, we hear stories from those who have benefited from this method - so simple that, at first, its simplicity makes it difficult to believe.
So, free yourself from negativity, pessimism or doubt, if any, and explore with an open mind what many people still do not know, or do not want to know about the nutritional arterial cleansing. And remember, while evaluating alternative methods, you need to be more concerned with what is right rather than who is right.
You should also be more decisive about this self-help method rather than vague or unsure. Your life, or the life of someone in the desperate need for help, may depend upon it.
"You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You must take action." ~ Tony Robbins
It is our hope, then, that by better understanding of this concept, you will be able to make up your own mind without being dominated by conventional doctors' assumption of authority, so you, or someone you know or hold dear, could fully benefit from it.
In other words, it is for you - if you have courage, good will and persistence, and are not afraid to take responsibility for your own arterial health.
